Patchwork Pet - Chicks in the Grass Dog Toy (14 in)

Product Overview

Turn playtime into a little hide-and-seek game with Chicks in the Grass from the Patches range. This 14-inch interactive dog toy combines a memory foam base with small squeaky plush chicks, with 6 squeakers listed for the product. Hide suitable treats underneath the chicks, use the plush pieces for gentle fetch, or practise wait-and-release together. Choose according to the size of the small pieces and your dog’s play style, not the base size alone.

Key Features

Memory Foam Grass Base

The grass-themed memory foam base provides a place to arrange the plush chicks and hide treats underneath them. It is part of the interactive play setup, not a chew toy, dog bed or claim of orthopaedic support.

Small Squeaky Plush Chicks

The small plush chicks add soft texture and sound to playtime. Their small size requires particular attention to swallowing risk; choose them only when appropriate for your dog.

6 Squeakers for Playtime Sound

With 6 squeakers listed for the product, the set adds sound to gentle interactive play. Sound components are part of the toy and should not be removed or offered as separate chew items.

Hide Treats Underneath the Chicks

Place small, suitable treats underneath the chicks so your dog can sniff and search during supervised play. Start with an easy setup and help your dog explore without ripping the foam base.

Fetch and Wait-and-Release Games

The plush pieces offer another way to play gentle fetch, while the setup can also be used for practising a wait cue followed by a release cue. Keep sessions short and rewarding; it is a play activity, not a guarantee of behaviour change.

Usage Instructions

• Inspect the base and every plush piece before use. Do not offer the toy if your dog could swallow a chick or tends to gulp small toys.
• Place the base on a clean, stable surface. Hide a small amount of dog-appropriate treats underneath the chicks, show your dog an easy starting point, then supervise the search.
• For wait-and-release practice, ask for a brief wait and give your usual release cue before allowing access. Use an easy level and reward success rather than forcing your dog to continue.
• For gentle fetch, use only an intact plush piece that is safely sized for your dog. Do not throw the foam base or encourage chewing and tearing it.
• Count hidden treats towards your dog’s daily food allowance. Remove uneaten food, inspect all components and put the set away after each session.

Safety

• Always supervise play, especially when introducing a new toy. Every dog plays differently and no toy is indestructible.
• The small plush chicks, squeakers and detached parts may present a swallowing or choking risk. Do not rely on the 14-inch overall size to judge the safety of the smaller pieces.
• Remove any damaged component immediately if there are torn seams, holes, loose material or exposed foam, filling or squeakers. A component that still squeaks is not necessarily safe once damaged.
• Do not allow your dog to swallow the memory foam, fabric, filling, squeakers or loose parts. Only the appropriate treats you add are intended to be eaten; the toy itself is not edible.
• If your dog tears the base instead of searching for treats, stop the activity and choose a more suitable toy. If any toy part is swallowed or your dog shows choking, vomiting or other concerning signs, contact your veterinarian promptly.
• Keep the toy, small pieces and packaging away from children and unsupervised pets when not in use.

Care & Cleaning

• Memory foam base: the brand instructs spot cleaning. Clean soiled areas locally; do not apply the plush toys’ machine-washing instructions to the foam base. Follow the exact product label for any further care directions.
• Plush pieces: the brand’s plush-toy guidance is to hand wash or machine wash on a gentle cycle, then air dry. Follow the care label on the pieces you own.
• Remove leftover treats and crumbs after play. Allow the base and plush pieces to dry fully before reassembling or storing, and inspect for damage again after cleaning.
